What are online coupons?

Online coupons are codes in the form of alphanumeric sequences (e.g., 15OFF100, save25 or springsale). The codes are released by online stores, and are used by customers to avail discounts.

How do you use online coupons?

The coupon codes are entered in a field (usually marked 'Promotional code', 'Discount code' or 'Coupon code') during the checkout processs, after which the discount is calculated and incorporated into the price. Sometimes the codes can be case-sensitive, so all coupons should be entered as presented.

Do online coupons expire?

Almost all online coupons expire. As such, where available, expiration dates are provided alongside the coupon codes.

Are there any restrictions to using online coupons?

Most coupons are bound by conditions or restrictions. The most common restriction is the enforcement of a minimum spending limit, whereby the coupon can only be used if a certain amount is spent (e.g., get 15% off if you spend $150 or more). Another restriction is to confine the use of a coupon to a specific product or store department. Details of restrictions or conditions are provided alongside the respective coupon codes.
